Less than three weeks to go before Ignite 4, and we’re getting pretty excited putting the finishing touches on things. The slide decks are coming together, the lights, camera, and action are getting organized, and we’re putting just the right balance of art, geekery, and a few tricks into our contest plans…
We’ve got well over 100 people signed up to attend — let’s see how quickly we can get to 200! Have you got your tickets yet?
It’s the best show in town! An evening of smart, funny, passionate folks educating and entertaining. Beer! Zombies! Shooting garbage with lasers! Don’t tell me you learn anything this cool at school or at work…
Delicious catering from Little Mushroom, a chance to hang out and geek out with your friends — and meet cool new people! And don’t forget our fabulous, creative, and challenging contest, with a whole bunch of amazing prizes from our sponsors: MMIMAIA, Regional of Waterloo International Airport, Wonderful Waterloo, and Words Worth Books! Do you think you’re avant garde enough to take the top honours? What are the prizes? None of your business, nosey!
And all this for only $5? You can’t miss it. All your friends will be talking about it the next day and you’ll be all mumbly and sad because you were at home watching Jersey Shore or something…
We’re also jazzed to welcome Schlueter Automotive Group back as a sponsor, and a big thanks and welcome, too, to C Worthy Communications as a new sponsor. We are still accepting a few sponsors, so if your company or organization is interested in supporting and being part of the Region’s coolest geek culture event, get in touch!
Thursday, November 18th, 6pm, The Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts, downtown Kitchener. See you there!
PS. Plans are already coming together for the next Ignite event, which will be extra special as it’ll be taking place during Global Ignite Week! More to come…
Our tummies have been rumbling since Stephanie Tanner of Little Mushroom Catering reached out to very generously offer her catering services for Ignite Waterloo 4. We can’t wait to see and taste what culinary delights await!
We haven’t really had a focus on food before, and we think catering is a great addition to a new season for Ignite and a new venue at the Conrad Centre. Check out the Little Mushroom menu or say hello on Twitter!
We’ve almost completed finalizing our speaker list, too, and organizer Erica came up with a fabulous idea for our contest this time around. You’ve already gotten your ticket, right?
As we previously announced, the fourth Ignite Waterloo event is on Thursday November 18 at the Conrad Centre in Kitchener. Tickets are now available. Previous events have sold out fairly quickly and we fully expect that to happen with this edition as well. If you want to attend, make sure to get your tickets as soon as you can.
See you in November!
